Bears in the wild are exciting and awe inspiring. Mother bears with their young are endearing. And photographs of these amazing creatures on your wall can bring the same sense of nurturing and excitement. The days I have spent with the bears left me breathless and filled with awe. After you click on an image, a box on the right will provide tabs to select "print media" and "size." There are three types of Brown Bears in Alaska: the Grizzly, the Kodiak, and the Coastal Brown. They are each subspecies of Brown Bears though genetic testing indicates the Coastal Brown Bears and Grizzlies are the same bear. Coastal Browns are larger because they eat a richer diet of salmon. Most of the bears in these galleries are Coastal Browns. They are about 3.5 feet tall when on all fours and 6-7 feet when standing. Females weigh 200-450 pounds while males weight 300-850 pounds.Three of the brown bear images in this gallery are actually Cinnamon Black Bears. Yep! Black bears are not all black!
