I love to see the way light changes what we see. This was an outdoor area at a bar in Soufriere, St Lucia. There was a rock wall with roots growing down over the rocks. A shaft of light went through the limbs creating a shaft that made part of the wall stand out. By exposing only for the light, the rest of the scene went dark creating the illusion of being blinded by the light.
St Lucia is what people dream of when they think “tropical Caribbean vacation.” It has beautiful mountain scenery, lovely small beaches, a rain forest, and the Pitons--two unique mountains that are World Heritage Sites, and sit right on the edge of the sea. Soufriere takes its name from the nearby volcanic pit which emits a sulpher smell.
This image is particularly lovely on either canvas or fine art paper. In a small size it adds a thoughful element to any corner. In a large size it becomes a conversation piece and a focal point of relaxation and inspiration.
