Oh the breathtaking beauty of slot canyons! Upper Antelope is easily the most famous with its iconic light beams against the back drop of red, purple, brown, and yellow rock with shapes that fascinate. Usually when people refer to Antelope Canyon they are referring to Upper Antelope as it is the best known and most visited. The canyons are formed by years of flash floods rushing through crevices in the ground that eventually become deep and narrow canyons. This means that light beams only penetrate in a visible way for a bout 15 minutes a day between April and September. And for the rest of the time, don't worry, it is still gorgeous.
